Immaculata vs. Centenary

The Game Story:
IMMACULATA, Pa. – Centenary College scored four goals during the final 11 minutes of the game to edge Immaculata University, 11-9, in Colonial States Athletic Conference men's lacrosse action on Saturday afternoon.

Immaculata opens the league slate 0-8, 0-1 CSAC. Centenary improved to 2-4, 1-0 CSAC.

Immaculata was led by Joey Shallow's three goals and two assists. Mike Boyd recorded two goals, and Jordon Smith, Ben Tuscai and Bhelly Bagbonon all finished with one goal and one assist each. Ryan Cipriani added one goal, and Tayler Acree and Max Bassett each had one assist.

Cipriani opened the scoring for the Mighty Macs at the 10:42 mark on a goal assisted by Shallow. However, Centenary's Robert Nuzzolese scored three straight goals, his third coming 54 seconds into the second quarter, to give the Cyclones' a 3-1 lead.

The Mighty Macs responded quickly with four consecutive goals all by different goal scorers (Bagbonon, Smith, Tuscai and Boyd) all in less than four minutes to recapture the 5-3 lead. The Cyclones' though ended the half with three goals, and took a 6-5 lead into halftime.

Immaculata and Centenary each scored once during the third quarter, and the Mighty Macs still trailed by one (7-6) heading into the final period.

Shallow scored back-to-back goal less than one minute apart to hand Immaculata an 8-7 lead with 12:29 remaining in the game. Centenary came back with three goals within 1:10 to retake the advantage (10-8). Shallow again provided a spark for the Mighty Macs with a goal on Acree's assist with 7:50 left in the contest making it 10-9, but Immaculata couldn't net another goal.

Nuzzolese scored six goals and one assist for Centenary. Cameron Gunn finished with six points on two goals and four assists.

Immaculata starting goalkeeper Max Bonhage played the first 58 minutes recording 18 saves. Centenary goalie Kyle McVay recorded 13 stops earning the win.
