Immaculata vs. Centenary

The Game Story:
IMMACULATA, Pa. – Immaculata University’s men’s lacrosse team won its second consecutive game and first home contest on Wednesday, April 2, as it defeated Moravian College, 9-4, at Draper Walsh Stadium.

The Mighty Macs (2-4 overall, 1-1 PAC) were powered to victory by a hat-trick from Brendan Dinneen and two-goal performance from sophomore Tom Hartney. Both Dinneen and Hartney and finished the contest with four point each.

Reigning PAC Player of the Week, sophomore Andrew Sim, displayed an outstanding performance in goal for the Mighty Macs, stopping 23 shots and only allowing four shot to find the back of the cage.

Immaculata scored three answered goals during the first quarter, including the first two from Dinneen, before Moravian connected on its first goal of the game with 17 seconds remaining in the opening quarter. Each team was held scoreless during the second stanza.

The Greyhounds capitalized on a man-up opportunity just 1:11 into the third period to trail 3-2. Immaculata again held a one-goal advantage, 4-3, after Moravian scored at the 7:17 mark of the third quarter.

From there, the Mighty Macs scored two goals in just over one minute to push the lead to 6-3, and Immaculata never looked back the rest of the way. Moravian scored its final goal of the contest with 3:52 remaining in the third quarter, and Immaculata closed the game with three fourth-period goals.

Junior Geoff Lorentz, sophomore Zach Krytzer and freshmen Joe Keller and Drew McLaughlin each added a goal in the effort, while Lorentz and Krytzer also added an assist. Junior Alan Lorentz chipped in two assists.

Jason Tosches led the Greyhounds with two goals. Benjamin Leavy made 11 saves for Moravian in the cage.

Immaculata looks to continue its winning streak when it hosts Centenary on Saturday, March 5, at Draper Walsh Stadium. Face-off is slated for 1 p.m.
