|In the first game in the history of the Immaculata University men's lacrosse program, the Mighty Macs fell to Manhattanville College 18-5, on Wednesday, March 14, at Draper Walsh Stadium.|
The Valiants (3-0) jumped out early on Immaculata, and held a 5-0 lead after the first quarter. Manhattanville scored its sixth goal just a minute into the second quarter, before the Mighty Macs made history. Sophomore Geoff Lorentz will forever have his name etched in the annuals of Immaculata as he scored the first goal for the program at 9:49 of the second quarter. Freshman Tim Flanagan will join him on the list as he recorded the first assist.
Freshman Anthony Cucchi followed with a goal at 3:36 off an assist from Flanagan to cut the deficit to 6-2. However, the Valiants closed the half with four unanswered goals, including three in the final minute to take a 10-2 lead into halftime.
Immaculata added three goals in the second half. Lorentz added his second goal off an assist from sophomore Alan Lorentz. Freshman Jim Baranello registered the final two goals, unassisted, for the Mighty Macs.
Freshman Andrew Sim collected 22 saves between the pipes for Immaculata, while Andrew Predum amassed 13 saves for Manhattanville.
