Immaculata vs. Albright

The Game Story:
IMMACULATA, Pa. – Immaculata University men's lacrosse was unable to keep pace with Albright College on Wednesday afternoon as the visiting Lions won 12-8 in non-conference action.

Joey Shallow scored three goals while Ben Tuscai added one goal and three assists for Immaculata (0-3). Ryan Cipriani scored twice, and Bhelly Bagbonon and Luc Minnich each netted one goal. Tayler Acree assisted on one of Shallow's tallies.

Immaculata scored the first goal 1:41 into the game as Cipriani scored on a feed from Tuscai. Albright then took the lead (2-1) scoring twice just 14 seconds apart. The Mighty Macs tied the score at 2-2 with 5:17 remaining in the first quarter as Tuscai scored unassisted, but the Lions held a 3-2 edge at the end of the first quarter.

Immaculata outscored Albright 2-1 in the second quarter as Shallow and Bagbonon both scored to send the Mighty Macs into halftime tied with the Lions at 4-all.

Albright (4-0) opened the third quarter scoring three consecutive goals to open up a 7-4 lead, and the Mighty Macs would trail the rest of the way. Minnich scored with 16 seconds left in the third off a deflection from his own shot, cutting Albright's lead to 7-5.

The Lions took a three-goal lead with 12:24 left in the game, but two straight goals from Shallow brought the Mighty Macs within one (8-7) with 10:26 to play. However, Albright scored four of the last five goals of the game.

Immaculata goalkeeper Jon Diodati registered 17 saves despite taking the loss. Albright's Andrew Torak made eight stops.

TJ Holston, Bryan Smith, Dan Foote and Justin Brown all scored three goals apiece.

Immaculata travels to Lebanon Valley on Saturday at 1 p.m.
