The Game Story:
NEWPORT NEWS, VA � Christopher Newport�s men�s lacrosse team won its second straight Wednesday afternoon defeating Hendrix, 13-4. The Captains scored the first five goals of the game before the Warriors found the back of the cage with 3:11 left in the first half. CNU took a 6-1 lead into the locker room at halftime. Christopher Newport scored the first six goals to start the second half before Hendrix totaled three of the game�s final four goals. Andrew Evans, coming off his school record six goals on Saturday, followed that with five more and an assist Wednesday. Jon Ims scored twice while Justin King and Patrick Cavanaugh each finished with one goal and three helpers. Ryan Merrell and Matt Gleisner both scored once and assisted on another. Chris Quigley and Danny Huston each scored once. CNU out-shot the Warriors, 44-22. Matt Miller won his third game in goal while stopping 10 shots. Ray Ralph and Brendan Tully each saw time in the cage and both made two stops each. Hendrix falls to 0-4 on the year while the Captains improve to 3-3. CNU returns to action Saturday as they host Eastern (PA) at 1 pm.
