The Game Story:
SEWANEE, Tenn. (March 13, 2012) – Despite eight first half goals, the Sewanee men's lacrosse team squeaked by Otterbein 10-9 in overtime Tuesday, at Puett Field.

Up 3-1 after the first period, the Tigers' (4-2) offense continued to pour it on in the second. After goals from Drew Lincoln, two from Pierce Leonard, and one by Lincoln Leahy, Sewanee finished the first half with an 8-2 advantage.

Just when it looked like Sewanee would cruise to an easy win, the Tigers' offense stalled. Taking advantage of their opportunity, the Cardinals rallied with two goals in the third period and five in the fourth.

In the extra period, Sewanee won the faceoff and then put an early shot on-goal. After Otterbein goalkeeper Adam Hatchard made the save, the Cardinals missed two shots by Eric Garris. Sewanee quickly responded in transition when Michael Morris fired home the game-winner from Davis Brown with 1:26 left.

Individually, Leonard, Morris, and Jack Thomasson led Sewanee with two goals each. Sophomore Tommy Healy led the Tiger defense with 12 saves.

For Otterbein, Garris scored three goals, including the final two late in regulation. Midfielder Mike Dattolo also added three goals on four shots.
