The Game Story:
CONWAY, Ark. – The Hendrix College men's lacrosse team lost 8-4 to Huntingdon College at Warrior Field on Friday night. Despite the Warriors (0-2) having an advantage in ground balls (44-31), shots (44-37) and turnovers (27-28), the Hawks (1-1) still came up with the victory.

Huntingdon picked up the first goal of the game when Matt Bowes scored on a pass from Jakob Works 2:25 into the contest. Hendrix tied the game when freshman attacker Zachary Baier found the cage with 2:59 left in the first quarter.

The Hawks picked up goals from Mike Kazmarik and Davis Dalton in the second period, before Baier added a second goal with 1:02 before halftime.

Dalton, Gavin Carey scored two more for the hawks and Works added a man-up goal, taking a 6-2 lead. Warrior junior midfielder Cameron Millstone scored back-to-back goals in the third quarter on passes from freshmen Patrick Rogers and Travis Rabun, cutting the deficit to 6-4. Dalton added another goal to end the third quarter and Kazmarik scored in the fourth to give Huntingdon the 8-4 victory.

Hendrix senior defenseman Robert McCarthy set a school record with six caused turnovers to go with seven ground balls. Millstone added nine ground balls and went 7-of-11 on faceoffs in addition to his pair of goals. Freshman keeper Joe Takacs had eight ground balls and seven saves. Freshman defender Will Ross had two caused turnovers.

Hawks' keeper Fabien Gutierrez picked up 18 saves and seven ground balls. Dalton led Huntingdon with three goals and Kazmarik had two. Carey ended up with a goal and two assists and Tyler Campbell had two assists as well. Brandon Sewell led the Hawks with eight ground balls.

Hendrix will travel to Nashville, Tenn. on Sunday to take on Piedmont College.
