Husson Powers Past Rivier


In their home opener, the Husson University Eagles cruised by the Rivier Raiders for a 20-1 win. Ben Landry (So., Lewiston, ME) paced the Eagles with four goals and four assists on the victory. With the win, Husson improves to 1-4 while Rivier falls to 0-2.

The Eagles controlled the ball throughout the game against first-year team Rivier, outshooting the Raiders 84 to 4. Hussonís first home goal of the year came off of Landryís stick with an assist from Nick Brown (So., Sabattus, ME). On the game, Husson registered 63 ground balls to Rivierís 18.

Rivierís Partic Bruenn (Fy., Meriden, CT) got on the scoreboard with 3:34 left in the final period for the Raidersí only goal of the game. Bruenn was assisted by Randy Perrine (Ry., Merrimack, NH). In goal, Rivierís Matt Besaw (Ry., Glens Falls, NY) tallied 29 saves.

Husson will return to action on Saturday, March 27 at home against St. Josephís. Gametime is set for 1:00.
