The Game Story:
BIRMINGHAM, Ala.—The Birmingham-Southern men's lacrosse team dropped a tough 9-5 decision to SCAC rival Colorado College, Friday evening in Panther Stadium.

The Panthers fall to 7-3 overall and 2-1 in the conference, while the Tigers move to 5-2 overall and 4-0 in SCAC play.

The game started with the teams trading goals twice for a 2-2 tie only six minutes in. The Tigers scored twice to close out the first quarter, but BSC answered that with two goals in the second quarter from seniors D.J. Ward and Jacob McPherson, and the score was tied 4-4 at the half.

Less than six minutes into the third quarter, the storms that had been threatening the area rolled through and the game went into a 30-minute lightning delay. Coming back out after that, the Panthers seemed to have lost some of their momentum. Colorado College scored three straight goals to go up 7-4.

BSC opened the fourth quarter with its final goal of the game, and the Tigers added two more before time expired.

McPherson and junior Brennan Ott had two goals apiece for BSC, while Ward added one. For the Tigers, Henri Halle led with two goals and Hunter Sprole recorded two assists.

Ott and freshman John Sommerall led the Panthers with four ground balls apiece, while senior David Litton had five caused turnovers.

Junior goalkeeper Andrew Huffman was impressive in the net, recording 13 saves.

CC out-shot BSC 34-19, had more ground balls (35-23), and won 12-of-17 face-offs. The Panthers also struggled clearing the ball, going 16-of-22, while the Tigers were 19-of-20.
