Birmingham Southern vs. Carthage

The Game Story:
MEMPHIS, Tenn. – Birmingham-Southern outscored Carthage College 4-1 in the fourth quarter to earn 12-win in a neutral site contest played on the Rhodes College Campus.

The Panthers, who improved to 2-1, never trailed in the contest, leading 4-2 after the opening quarter before heading to halftime tied 5-5. BSC outscored Carthage 3-2 in the third quarter take an 8-7 lead into the final stanza.

BSC scored four goals and got some key saves from goal keeper Andrew Huffman in the foruth quarter. Huffman finished the day with 14 saves.

Evan Lalande tallied eight points, scoring three goals with two assists. Matt Ivie led BSC with four goals for five points followed by Nicco DeRosa with four points, two goals and two assists.

Mike VanSickle score a goal and had an assists for two points while Reed Butelr and Peter Raffanti added a goal piece.

BSC had 16 on ground balls and forced 17 turnovers. Brennan Ott recorded eight ground balls followed by Raffanti with six and DeRosa with four.

The Panthers won 13-of-21 faceoffs with Ott recording 11.

Birmingham-Southern plays it home opener against Ferrum on Tuesday at 6 p.m.
