Randolph vs. Marywood

The Game Story:
Lynchburg, VA -- Visiting Marywood University opened up a 5-3 halftime lead by scoring eight unanswered goals in the final two quarters to post a 13-3 non conference victory over host Randolph College Sunday afternoon.

With the loss Randolph falls to 0-2 on the year, while Marywood records their first win of the 2010 season.

Following two Marywood goals, Randolph's Zach Speelman would notched his first collegiate tally cutting the lead to 2-1 with 33 second left in the first quarter. Fellow first-years Johnathan O'Hara and TJ Story would score goals just three minutes apart to give the WildCats their first lead of the afternoon, 3-2. From there, the Pacers would rally and find the back of the net three times before the halftime horn sounded, taking a 5-3 lead into the break.

The final two quarters belonged to Marywood, as the Pacers notched eight unanswered goals to secure the 13-3 non-conference victory. WildCat goalie sophomore Kevin McCracken was solid in net finishing with 21 saves on 49 shots faced. Marywood goalie Jesse Habich finished with 11 saves on 21 WildCat shots.

Randolph's Stephen Allman posted a team-high five ground balls on the afternoon. William Roerden led the Pacers with four goals and four ground balls, while George Downey IV followed with three goals and two assists.

Randolph honored former player Aaron Shacklette prior to the contest, naming an annual Wildcat Men's Lacrosse award in his memory. Randolph will return to action Wednesday when the Wildcats welcome Eastern University for a match scheduled for 5:30 p.m. at the college's field and track complex.
