Lebanon Valley vs. Widener
April 21, 2012
The Game Story:
Junior Josh Fox (Wynnewood, PA) scored five goals, including three in the opening half when Widener built a sizable lead and punched its ticket into the Commonwealth Conference Tournament with a 16-10 victory over Lebanon Valley.

Widener (6-7, 4-1 CC) scored eight straight goals to eradicate a 2-0 deficit and grab an 8-2 lead with 8:54 left in the opening half. Fox and junior Johnny Casey (Glenside, PA) each scored twice with freshman Kyle Blakemore (Ridley Park, PA) getting a goal and two assists.

The Dutchmen (9-4, 3-3) netted three straight goals in the third quarter to close to 10-9 with 7:31 remaining. Malik Pedroso scored two of the three goals in that span.

But there was little panic in Widener, which put home the next three markers to grab a 13-9 cushion late in the period. Fox netted a pair in that span and junior Ryan Eidenshink (Elkins Park, PA) had one.

Casey had three goals and two assists, senior Ryan Shewell (Ellicott City, MD) posted three and one and Blakemore recorded one and four for the Pride. Eidenshink scored twice and sophomore Mac Nestler (Chatham, NJ) had 18 saves.

Widener sits in first place, one-half game ahead of Albright (3-1).

Widener ends the regular season April 28 against Elizabethtown, starting at 1:00 pm.
