The Game Story:
Nashua, NH- The Lasell Lasers got by the Raiders with ease as they defeated Rivier 21-1 in tonight's men's lacrosse action. Lasell set the tone early by winning 5 of 7 face-offs and were able to get 7 goals in the first quarter alone. The Raiders played better in the second quarter as they were able to hold them to 3 goals, but the Lasers brought the heat in the third quarter where they put 6 more in the back of the net.

The Raiders were able to get their lone goal on the board by capitalizing on a Lasell turnover by goaltender Tyler Silliman (Windsor, CT) when he was out of the net. Rivier's Justin Chenevert (Tewksbury, MA) was able to intercept the pass and caught the goalie out of position and put the ball in the back of the net. The Lasers were able to add 5 more in the final 10 minutes to end the game with a score of 21-1.

The Lasers spread the offense around as 15 players were able get on the score sheet. Jon Elia (East Lyme, CT) lead all scored with 4 points on the night where he scored one goal and added 3 assists. Chris Burkley (Groton, CT) and Keith Berliner (Monroe, CT) contributed off the bench with 3 points apiece where they each had 2 goals and an assist.

Matt Besaw (Glenn Falls, NY), despite taking the loss, played another nice game in the net as he made 14 stops on the night while facing 35 total shot on goal. The Lasers outshot the Raiders by a total of 54-2 as well as leading in ground balls 64-21. Rivier also committed 29 turnovers in the game, compared to just 13 by the visitors.

The Raiders will continue their home stand on Thursday night when they take on Regis College at 7:00 PM. Lasell will host Mass Maritime for their final game of the season on May 1st at 1:00 PM.
