Otterbein vs. Albion

The Game Story:
WESTERVILLE, OHIO Otterbein, now 3-4 overall, overcame a slow start and eventually defeated visiting Albion (MI) by a score of 10-5 Saturday afternoon at Memorial Stadium.

Down 3-0 with the first quarter winding down, OCs Jason Paselk got the Cardinals on the board and cut the deficit to 3-1 with one minute to play in the opening frame.

Freshman Adam McGrath would tally two goals to tie the game at 3-3 in the second quarter, and Michael Hughes would give the Cards a 4-3 advantage by depositing a shot into the back of the net with just over four minutes to play before the half.

Otterbein would take the 4-3 lead into the locker rooms for intermission.

The Cards led 6-4 entering the fourth quarter, but the Britons would answer back and trail by just one with 12:49 to play.

OC responded to blow the game open, scoring four goals in the final nine minutes to earn a 10-5 victory. Freshman Chris Perin tallied his first career goal in the spurt.

The Cards won just 6-of-19 face-offs, but forced Albion into committing 34 turnovers. Otterbein also picked up eight more groundballs than the Britons.

McGrath and Hughes each scored three goals, with McGrath adding two assists to finish with five points on the afternoon. Freshman Graham Shippy registered two goals and two assists.

Adam Hatchard proved valuable in goal once again, stopping 12 shots en route to the victory.
