March 10, 2012
The Game Story:
GREENVILLE, Pa. — The Tomcat men's lacrosse team suffered a 20-3 setback at the hands of the Aurora University Spartans on Saturday afternoon in Greenville.

Aurora got on the board first and scored the first three goals of the game in the opening quarter before Thiel's Carmen Papa (Salamanca, N.Y./Salamanca Central) cut the Sparten lead to 3-1 with a goal with 55 seconds remaining in the frame.

It would be all Aurora in the second quarter as they outscored Thiel 9-0 in the quarter including three straight goals by Garrett Rosiek. With the huge quarter, the Spartans took a 11-1 lead into halftime.

The second half would be no different, as the Tomcats were outscored 9-2, with their two goals coming from Francis Ahia (Penn Hills, Pa./Penn Hills), who notched goals eight and nine on the year.

Thiel will be back in action on Wednesday, March 21 when they travel to the College of Wooster to take on the Fighting Scotts. The contest is scheduled for a 4 p.m. start time.
