|JACKSON – The Millsaps Majors Men's Lacrosse Team welcomed in the top team in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference on Sunday afternoon as the Colorado College Tigers came into Harper Davis Field. Millsaps hung tough with the Tigers in the first half, but it was too much Colorado College as they pulled away to take a 25-2 win.|
Colorado jumped out to a 6-0 lead in the first quarter, but Millsaps started the second quarter on a high note as freshman Scott Budd made a beautiful cut towards the goal which where sophomore Ryan McKay found him to make it a 6-1 game. The Majors continued to hang tough with the Tigers, but Colorado College showed why they are one of the top teams in the nation as they pulled away to a 16-1 lead at half and eventually the win.
Budd led Millsaps with two goals on the afternoon while McKay had the one assist. Freshman Stuart Madden picked up five groundballs on the afternoon while sophomore Taylor Page caused two turnovers to lead the way defensively. Sophomore Chris Hood was tough in goal as he had 22 saves on the afternoon.
