Piedmont vs. Rhodes
March 2, 2013
The Game Story:
The Rhodes College Men's Lacrosse Team won by a tally of 10-4 victory against out of conference opponent Piedmont College to give the program its second victory in a row for the 2013 season.

In a game that was scoreless in the first period, the Lynx got on the scoreboard right before the halftime break with a great play by William Posey, who not only created a Piedmont turnover on a failed clear attempt, but then sparked a transition fast break that swung the momentum of the game in the Lynx favor. The Lynx took advantage of this in the 3rd quarter to break the game wide open with a 6 to 0 goal quarter that all but solidified the victory.

The Lynx were led offensively by Merrill Charette (2 goals, 2 assists), Kevin Vieira (2 goals), Matt Vavrek (3 goals), Cooper Robinson (3 goals), and John Sanford (1 assist).

On Defense Christian Labenberg, David Dorris, and Alex Shumaker kept the Piedmont Offensive attack in check all day long, helping produce the Lynx lowest goals against tally of the season thus far. Goalie Braxton Carr had a great day in goal tallying 16 saves with only 4 goals allowed.

The Lynx will be back on the field on Friday March 8th as they host out of conference opponent Centenary College of Louisiana in first game of the 1st Annual River City Rumble. The start time for the game is 3:00 PM CST on Crain Field. The second game will be on Sunday March 10th as the Lynx take on Wilmington College of Ohio at 11:00 AM CST on Crain Field.
