| BOSTON, Mass. -- Emmanuel College defeated the University of Maine at Farmington 15-3 in non-conference men's lacrosse action this evening at Clemente Field. The Beavers (0-2) are scheduled to take on Saint Joseph's College of Maine Thursday at 7 p.m. at Deering High School in Portland. The Saints evened their record at 2-2. Jake Linkletter (Athens, Maine), Tennessee Peters (Scarborough, Maine) and Matt Roy (Kents Hill, Maine) each notched a goal for the Beavers, who were outshot 39-11 in the match. Mike Foley (Byfield, Mass.) and Jon-Michael Roy (Kents Hill, Maine) each had an assist in the loss. Ted Dimando led the Saints with six goals, while Josh Condry added a hat trick and Eddie Thy provided two goals and an assist. Emmanuel also received three assists from Jake Jaskolski and a goal and two assists by Jake Pickett. Dimando cashed in Pickett assists for the first two scores as the Saints outscored UMF 5-1 in opening quarter. The second quarter was nearly scoreless with Pickett striking with two seconds left before the break for a 6-1 intermission advantage. After Dimando and Matt Roy exchanged goals to open the second, the Saints netted seven straight scores over a 14:17 span stretching the third and fourth quarters to put the contest away. Dimando collected three goals during the run with Thy adding a pair to help Emmanuel to the 15-3 victory. Hunter Rowell (West Paris, Maine) manned the pipes for UMF for the first 52:01 with seven saves. Aaron Burr (Brooklyn, Conn.) did not make a stop over the final 7:59. Austin Louzier worked the first three quarters in goal for Emmanuel with Justin Byers taking over for the final 15 minutes. Louzier and Byers each made a save. |
