The Game Story:
UTICA, NY - The Medaille College men's lacrosse team dominated SUNY-IT for sixty minutes en route to a (20-7) pasting of the host Wildcats in NEAC action this afternoon. The Mavs seized a (7-0) lead after one quarter and never looked back in what was their second straight convincing road win.

The Mavsjumped out early as Drew Belica opened the scoring at the (11:19) mark of the first on a nice feed from Tyler Strassburg. Just over a minute later Scott Johnston stuck a Cameron Ferguson offering in the back of the net on a perfectly executed man-up sequence. With (8:37) left in the quarter Strassburg would receive a feed from Levick and beat the Wildcat goaltender and the rout was on.

The Mavs would tally four goals in the final five minutes of the opening quarter, with Levick netting two, Belica one, and Joe Kozovski one as well.

The Mavs would outscore SUNY-IT (4-2) in the second quarter to carry an (11-2) advantage into halftime. Senior netminder Brian Roff stopped a pair of shots in the first half as well.

The second half would see Sean Kettles step between the posts as the Mavs tallied two straight goals to push their lead to eleven. Senior defender Caleb Higgins tallied an unassisted marker followed by Johnstons second of the game. SUNY-IT would net back to back goals with under two minutes to play in the third to cut the Medaille lead to (13-4) heading into the final quarter.

The Mavs exploded for seven consecutive goals in the first five minutes of the final frame with John-Henry Jackson opening starting that barrage. He won the faceoff cleanly and streaked in for an unassisted tally. The next six goals would come from Johnston (his 3rd on the day), two more by Levick and Kozovski along with a beautiful goal from long stick defender Brian Niederpruem off a Levick feed. The hosts would score three goals over the final ten minutes to get them to the (20-7) score.

All told Brock Levick matched a career high with ten points on six goals and four assists. He netted the six goals on just eight shot attempts. Following closely behind was Kozovski who registered a hat trick while also dishing out four assists. Another pair of hat tricks were registered by Johnston (3 goals - 2 assists) and Belica (3 goals - 1 assist) while Strassburg scored a pair and dished out two assists as well.

The Mavs won the ground ball war (24-15) and outshot the Wildcats (47-19) en route to the win. The Medaille defense was stellar all game long as they wreaked havoc on the Wildcat offensive players all game long. Sean Kettles would stop four shots in his thirty minutes of action in the second half.

The Mavs are now (2-4) overall and sit at (2-1) in NEAC play. They will have a critical conference matchup with the Keuka College Storm on Wednesday (4/11) at 4:00pm as they return home following four straight road games.
