|The Game Story:|
|Richard Stockton (1-0) scored two early goals and led the rest of the way in winning its season opener 8-2 over Arcadia (0-1) on a cold night in Pennsylvania. A pair of freshmen led the Ospreys in their first college game. Guy Loggi (Somers Point/Mainland) paced the offense with three goals and goalkeeper Kevin Eipel (Clark/Arthur L. Johnson) earned his first career victory with five saves.|
Vincent Manasia (Clark/Arthur L. Johnson), another freshmen, scored two goals while Drew Wright (Wallingford, PA/Strath Haven) contributed a goal and an assist. The Ospreys outshot Arcadia 39-17 and held a 47-34 advantage in ground balls.
Loggi gave Stockton a 1-0 lead just 1:41 into the game with an assist by Wright. Nick Bologno (Glen Gardner/North Huntedon) scored only 16 seconds later and the Ospreys were on their way to victory. Each team scored twice in the second quarter, with Wright and Manasia tallying for Stockton, which led 4-2 at the half.
Freshman Connor DeCicco (Catonsville, MD/Mount St. Joseph) opened the second-half scoring with his first career marker 2:56 into the third quarter. Loggi followed with two straight goals to increase the Stockton lead to 7-2 after three periods. The Ospreys closed the scoring on Manasia’s second goal of the game with 4:44 remaining. Stockton held Arcadia scoreless for the last 35:45 and outscored the Knights 4-0 in the second half to roll to the 8-2 victory.
