The Game Story:
Providence, Rhode Island - Sophomores Thomas Muldoon and Zach Caldwell scored two goals each, and junior goalie Jordan Burke made 17 saves, to lift Brown to a 9-5 men's lacrosse win over Dartmouth in the Ivy League opener for both teams. The win lifts the Bears to 4-2 overall and 1-0 in Ivy play, while Dartmouth drops to 3-3, 0-1 in the Ivy League.

Brown led from start-to-finish with Caldwell and senior Mike Cummins giving the Bears an early 2-0 advantage. The two teams exchanged goals with Towney Swiggett and Jon Livadas scoring for the Big Green and Muldoon and senior Brian Asher scoring for the Bears to keep Brown in the lead, 4-2.

Bears' junior middy Reade Seligmann gave Brown a 5-2 lead at the half on an unassisted man-up goal with 3:56 left in the half.

Dartmouth's Jimmy Mullen opened the second half scoring to pull Dartmouth to within 5-3 of the Bears. But Brown quickly answered on goals by sophomore Collins Carey at 3:43 of the third quarter and Caldwell with 11:26 left in the game to build a 7-3 advantage.

The Big Geeen made a last run at the Bears on goals by Brian Koch and Ari Sussman to trail, 7-5, with 6:11 left to play. But Bears' junior attackman Jack Walsh picked up a loose ball in front of the Dartmouth net to score with 1:20 remaining to ice the game. Muldoon's second goal of the game with 38 seconds left on the clock accounted for the final margin of victory for the Bears.

Burke was spectacular in goal, frustrating the Big Green time after time in making 17 saves. Including 11 in the first half. Caldwell was the game's top scorer with two goals and an assist.

The Bears return to action on Tuesday, March 25, hosting Vermont at Meister-Kavan Field. Game time is 3:00 p.m.
