The Game Story:
Providence, Rhode Island - Junior Rory McCarthy scored his fifth goal of the game with 16 seconds remaining in regulation to lift Fairfield to an 8-7 come-from-behind victory over Brown at Stevenson Field.

Brown held an early 3-0 lead on goals by sophomore Britton Derkac, sophomore Chris Mucciolo and senior Jon Thompson, who scored at 1:36 of the second quarter. Sophomore AJ Califano got Fairfield on the scoreboard, but Thompson scored again for the Bears to give Brown a 4-1 margin. McCarthy scored with 39 seconds left in the half the Brown lead to 4-2 at halftime.

McCarthy scored again for the Stags just 34 seconds into the third quarter to bring Fairfield to within one goal of Brown. Thompson scored his third goal of the game, and freshman Will McGettigan scored at 9:36 of the third quarter to lift the Bears to a 6-3 advantage.

Fairfield's Sean Flynn scored at 12:11 of the third quarter and McCarthy scored at the 3:07 mark of the fourth quarter to bring the Stags to within one goal of the Bears. Mucciolo gave Brown a two-goal margin, 7-5, with his second goal of the game at 6:31 of the fourth quarter.

Califano scored at 9:06 of the fourth quarter and McCarthy tied the game, 7-7, on an assist by senior Matt Buecker with 3:31 remaining to play.

McCarthy led all scores with five goals and one assist for Fairfield. The Bears were led by Thompson, who netted three goals and handed out one assist.

Brown junior goalie Mike Levin made 11 saves for the Bears, while Fairfield goalie CJ Kempo registered 14 saves for the Stags.

Brown will travel to Syracuse on Saturday, March 29th before returning home next Wednesday, April 2nd for their Ivy League opener against Yale.
