The Game Story:
LEWISBURG, Pa. - Wes Fetchet had three goals and an assist and was one of nine Bucknell players to hit the back of the net in the Bison^Òs 15-6 Patriot League victory over Lehigh Saturday at Christy Mathewson-Memorial Stadium.

Patrick Christensen also scored three goals for Bucknell, which improved to 4-4 overall and 2-1 in the Patriot League. Lehigh (0-7, 0-2) received a pair of goals from Greg Morin and two assists from Mike Osborne.

Bucknell junior Ryan Goodman dominated at the faceoff X. He won 15 of 21 and Kevin McCarthy took 2 of 4 to help the Bison control time of possession throughout the day. Goodman led all players with six ground balls.

After David Gaunt staked Lehigh to a 1-0 lead six minutes into the contest, Bucknell rebounded from a turnover-filled start to take control with a 4-goal run. Steve Case, one of four freshmen to score goals for the Bison, tied it at 1-all less than a minute after the Gaunt goal. Patrick Christensen scored a man-up goal with 6:54 left in the period to give Bucknell the lead for good.

Brian Gargan and Fetchet closed out the Bison run before Andrew Lucas scored on a man advantage early in the second period to make it a 4-2 contest. Bucknell stretched its lead with a lightning-quick two-goal strike. John Salvesen scored off a Patrick O^ÒHearn feed with 9:27 left in the first half, then just six seconds later Case scooped a ground ball off the draw, sprinted to the goal and scored past Lehigh goalie Tom Ellis.

Another Christensen EMO goal 6:15 before halftime gave the Bison a 7-3 lead at intermission.

Bucknell scored the first three goals of the second half, with Gargan, Fetchet and Kirk Klett all tallying unassisted goals. Lehigh pulled within 11-6 with a 3-1 run over a span of only 1:44. Morin scored twice during that spurt, but his goal off a Stephen Marino assist with 5:24 left in the third quarter would be the Mountain Hawks final tally of the day.

Christensen and Clayton Millice closed out Bucknell^Òs six-goal third period ^Ö it was the first career goal for Millice ^Ö and Fetchet and Chris Cara tallied the only two goals of the fourth. Lehigh blanketed Cara all day long, holding the nation^Òs leading scorer to just a goal and an assist for a season-low two points, but Cara had plenty of help.

Bucknell outshot Lehigh 39-29 and held a 41-21 edge in ground balls. The Bison converted 3 of 5 extra-man chances, while the Mountain Hawks were 1 of 4.

Matt Baran made six saves in goal for the Herd, and backup Mark Davis stopped one shot over the final 6:09. Ellis had 12 saves for Lehigh before giving way to Dusty Granet in the fourth quarter.

Bucknell returns to action next Saturday at Patriot League rival Hobart at 1 p.m.
