The Game Story:
Philadelphia - Bruce Bickford made 17 saves while the Drexel defense allowed just three goals as the Dragons downed St. John's 6-3 in heavy rain at Vidas Field. Scott Perri, making his first career appearance, and Andrew Chapman each scored a pair of goals as Drexel improved to 4-1 on the season.

The Red Storm opened the game with a pair of goals, both on Tom Michaelsen assists. Nick Messinger scored less than seven minutes into the game while Rob Gannon gave St. John's a two-goal lead. The Drexel defense responded not by just shutting down the Red Storm offense but by creating offensive opportunities. Steve Grossi picked off a pass in the defensive zone and sprinted to the other end of the field where he raced in towards the cage. He flipped the ball to Chapman who put the Dragons on the board with 1:25 remaining in the opening period. Less than three minutes into the second period, Grossi again intercepted a pass, this time at midfield and eventually found Perri in front who notched his first career goal to tie the score at 2-2. Minutes later, Kevin Dart picked up a groundball on defense and raced the other direction where went unchallenged toward the cage before firing a shot that gave the Dragons a 3-2 lead. Chris O'Connor wrapped up the first half scoring with a goal on an Chapman assist as Drexel headed to the break with a 4-2 lead.

Following intermission, Trevor Michaelsen put the Red Storm within a goal as he beat Bickford with 6:48 remaining in the third period. The Dragons put the game away in the fourth with Chapman and Perri each notching his second goal of the game while the Drexel defense shut out the Red Storm the rest of the way.

Over his last two games, All-America candidate Bickford has made 28 saves while allowing a total of just five goals. Dan Goldberg made 11 saves for St. John's.

The Dragons will host Saint Joseph's on Tuesday, March 11 at 7:00 p.m.
