The Game Story:
CAMBRIDGE, MA - The Harvard men's lacrosse team saw a 4-2 halftime lead disappear and Cornell scored nine unanswered goals in the second half as the Big Red rolled to an 11-4 victory on Jordan Field in Cambridge on Saturday afternoon. Tenth-ranked Cornell improved to 7-1 with the win, while Harvard drops its third consecutive decision and falls to 4-3 overall, 0-2 in the Ivy League.

Harvard came out firing early, and took a 2-0 lead on a pair of strikes by junior attackman Matt Primm (Westminster, MD). Cornell cut the deficit in half with a Justin Redd (Towson, MD) tally before the break, and tied the game at two with an Andrew Collins (Yorktown Heights, NY) score at 10:46 of the second. The Crimson took that 4-2 halftime edge with goals by Jay Wich (Hunt Valley, MD) and Jim Christian (Chester, NJ) late in the second frame.

The second half of the game clearly belonged to the Big Red, as Sean Greenhalgh (St. Catherine's, ONT) got things rolling with his first of four on the day at 12:17 of the third, and middie JP Schalk (Jamesville, NY) tied the game at four less than a minute later. Greenhalgh and Redd made the score 6-4 at the end of three, and Cornell scored five more unanswered tallies in the fourth (two with a man advantage) for the final 11-4 margin.

Harvard goalie Jake McKenna (Darien, CT) made 13 saves, while Justin Cynar (Massapequa, NY) made seven stops in the winning effort. Harvard will be in action again on Wednesday, when it travels to Providence to take on Brown at 7 p.m. The Big Red has a showdown with second-ranked Syracuse on Tuesday afternoon.
