The Game Story:
COLUMBUS, Ohio - Buckeye sophomore Ben Wolff scored three goals to lead the Ohio State men's lacrosse team to an 8-4 victory over Drexel Saturday at Jesse Owens Memorial Stadium. The win improves the Buckeyes' record this season to 2-2, while the Dragons fall to 3-3. Ohio State is 4-0 all-time against Drexel.

The Buckeyes' Chris Brown (Jr., Dublin, Ohio/Dublin Scioto) scored the only goal of the first quarter at 4:18, assisted by Jason Bloom (Jr., Coquitlam, British Columbia/Centennial). Ohio State and Drexel traded goals in the first part of the second quarter - with Jason Lutz (Fr., Carlisle, Pa./Carlisle) scoring for OSU and Sean Moloney tallying for Drexel - before Wolff (So., Owings Mills, Md./Calvert Hall) and Shaun Lyons (Sr., Hicksville, N.Y./Hicksville) ended the scoring in the half with unassisted goals. The Buckeyes went into the lockerroom at halftime with a 4-1 lead.

Drexel's Yoni Cohen scored with 8:11 remaining in the third quarter to cut OSU's lead to two (4-2), but Anthony Gilardi (Sr., Baldwin, N.Y./Baldwin) regained the two-goal edge for the Buckeyes with a goal at 6:23.

Chris O'Connor scored twice for the Dragons in the fourth quarter, but the Buckeyes held on for the victory. O'Connor started the scoring with a man-up goal at 11:44. Wolff responded for OSU with a goal at 8:39, followed by another O'Connor goal 50 seconds later (7:49). Kyle Olson (at 4:39) and Wolff (at 1:51) then ended the scoring in the game for the 8-4 final. In the fourth quarter, Drexel had five extra-man opportunities, but the Buckeye defense held strong, allowing just one goal in the five one-minute chances.

Wolff had a game-high and career-best three goals and now has at least two goals in each of his last three games. Brown and Lyons each had a goal and an assist for two points. Lutz's goal marked the first of his Buckeye career. Gilardi's goal extended his point-streak to four this season with his goal; he now has 98 points in his Buckeye career. The assist was Bloom's first this season and the first of his career.

In net, Buckeye senior Tony Russo (Fallston, Md./Calvert Hall) made 14 saves. Ryan Haney had 10 stops for the Dragons.

Ohio State returns to action March 20 when it travels to Hamden, Conn., to face Quinnipiac at noon. The game vs. the Bobcats is the first of four road games in a row for the Buckeyes.
