COLUMBUS, Ohio - The No. 19 Ohio State men's lacrosse team lost its season opener to No. 14 Navy, 13-10, Saturday at the North Turf Field. The Buckeyes led 7-5 at halftime but were outscored in the second half, 8-3, to give Navy the win.

Anthony Gilardi (Jr., Baldwin, N.Y./Baldwin) then scored to tie the game at five, followed by back-to-back goals by Curtis Smith (Sr., Victoria, British Columbia/Oak Bay).

Myers started the third quarter off with an unassisted goal just over two minutes in. Navy and OSU traded goals, by Eddy Holton and Mike Norton (Sr., Timonium, Md./Calvert Hall), respectively, before the Midshipmen rattled off six consecutive goals, including three by Gill, to retake the lead they would not relinquish.
