The Game Story:
FAIRFIELD, CT (April 19, 2003) - Hofstra's Tim Treubig scored the game-winner with 2:03 remaining in overtime to give the Pride an 8-7 win over Sacred Heart University in Colonial Athletic Association action Saturday afternoon. The upset minded Pioneers tied the game at 8-8 on senior TJ Hutmacher's (Pomona, NY) third goal of the game with 1:50 remaining to force the extra session. Treubig got free and beat freshman goalkeeper Thomas Hind (Farmingdale, NY) to give the Pride their third-straight victory and moving their record to 8-4 overall and 3-1 in the CAA.

Sacred Heart opened the scoring just 1:09 into the game when senior Daniel DeVoe (East Rockaway, NY) took a feed from freshman Adam Dzezdy (Glenig, MD) and buried it for an early 1-0 lead. Hofstra answered back in the ninth minute on Mike Morrison's only goal on the afternoon. SHU junior Brandon Godbout (Ballston Lake, NY) picked-up his first goal of the game just under seven minutes and Chris Unterstein tied it for Hofstra just before the end of the first quarter.

The two teams each posted three more before the half to keep the game tied, 5-5, at halftime. The Pride would take the early advantage in the third session on goals by Ryan O'Donnell and John Keysor while holding the Pioneers scoreless on just three shots. SHU would finally kick-start the offense again at 8:38 of the fourth quarter as Hutmacher scored his first of the day and followed it up with his second just 2:36 later to tie the score at 7-7.

The Pride took a one-goal lead with 2:45 remaining on Keysor's second goal of the game before Hutmacher could tie it in the final two minutes. Hofstra goalkeeper, senior Matthew Southard, made nine saves on the day including key stops down the stretch, to earn the win. Hind picked up 13 saves in the loss.

Sacred Heart, now 5-7 and 1-4 in the conference, returns to action on Tuesday, April 22nd when they close out the home portion of their schedule hosting the University of Hartford at 3:30 pm.
