on Tuesday night at Klockner Stadium in Charlottesville, Va.? The Mount was paced by Dave Orban's
three goals.
Leading 4-0, Virginia scored three goals in a span of 1:14 to close out the first quarter with a
commanding 7-0 lead.? Ben Rubeor had two goals and two assists in the opening quarter while Drew
Thompson also scored twice in the quarter.
After Danny Glading's extra-man goal 2:36 into the second quarter, the Mount broke on the scoreboard
on Orban's first goal of the game.? The Cavaliers (5-1) responded with the next four goals before the
Mount's Joe Bello scored with five seconds left in the half to make the score 12-2 at the
intermission.
Virginia then rattled off the next six markers over the first five minutes of the third quarter?to
take an 18-2 lead.? Rubeor scored twice during the decisive run.? Orban's second goal of the game
broke the Virginia streak, and Geery Grant's second score of the season after to Virginia goals made
it 20-4 after three quarters of play.? In the final quarter, The Cavaliers outscored the Mount, 3-2.?
Drew Dunn's first collegiate goal and Orban's third of the game rounded out the Mount's goals.
Rubeor finished with four goals and two assists while Glading added three goals and three assists in
the victory.? Joe Dewey added three goals and Thompson a pair as 13 different Virginia players scored
in the contest.
Orban finished with three goals and Bello a goal and two assists to pace the Mount offense.? Grant
added a goal and an assist with a team-high six shots in the game.? The Mount's Kyle Daddio won 13 of
24 face-offs in the game while picking up five ground balls.
Virginia outshot the Mount 75-23 in the game and held a 57-32 advantage in ground balls.? Mount
goalkeepers Joe Zolezzi (13 saves) and Chris Channing (10 saves) each played a half.
The Mount returns to action on Saturday, March 17, when Marist visits Waldron Family Stadium for a
1:00 p.m. game in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference opener for the Mount.
