The Game Story:
LEXINGTON, Va. -- Manhattan freshman attackman Eugene Tanner scored four goals and added an assist in leading the Manhattan lacrosse team (2-3) to a 12-7 win over VMI (1-3) at Patchin Field on Saturday afternoon.

The Jaspers took a 4-1 lead in the first quarter, behind two goals and an asssit from junior midfielder Nick Silva. The lead was extended to 6-2 at halftime.

The Keydets were led by freshman attackman Erik Rohrman (Ridgefield, Conn./ Ridgefield), who scored two goals and notched two assists. Freshman midfielder Gabe McCaig (Pointed Point, N.Y./ Corning West) added a goal and two assists.

Tanner paced the Jasper effort. Silva had two goals and three assists on the day.

VMI senior midfielder Brian Niven (Barrington, Ill./ Barrington) won 20 of 22 face-offs for the day.

Keydet junior goalkeeper Brian Ward (Novi, Mich./ Novi) made nine saves on the afternoon. Manhattan senior James Amandola saved 15 Keydet shots.

VMI will host Colgate on Tuesday afternoon at 3:30. Wagner will host Canisius next Sunday at 1 p.m.
