The Game Story:
VESTAL, N.Y. -- Sophomore attack Chris Mulheron (Canandaigua, N.Y.) scored three goals and added three assists and freshman attack Drew Wichman (Syracuse, N.Y.) had two goals and three assists, leading Binghamton (2-4, 1-0 AE) to a 16-4 win over Hartford (1-7, 0-2 AE) in an America East Conference men's lacrosse game at the East Gym Complex on Saturday afternoon. The Bearcats have now won two of their past three games and have averaged 12.3 goals per outing in the process.

Sophomore attack Jake Boyce (Pittsford, N.Y.) also recorded a hat trick, giving him six goals in his past two games. Senior midfielder Jeff Santucci (Cicero, N.Y.), freshman midfielder Steve Carlson (Penn Yan, N.Y.) and sophomore midfielder Andrew O'Leary (Syracuse, N.Y.) each added two goals and sophomore defender John Dreska (Rockville Center, N.Y.) tallied a pair of assists.

Binghamton took control of the game early, going up 5-0 with 7:19 left in the first half. Santucci netted both of his goals by that point and Wichmann recorded two of his assists. From there, the Bearcats went up 8-2 at the break.

The Bearcats blew the game open with six unanswered goals in a span of 6:57 to go up 14-2 midway through the third quarter. Boyce scored two of his goals during the run.

O'Leary had the Bearcats' final two goals of the game, both coming in the fourth quarter.

Binghamton outshot the Hawks 52-14 and won 17 of 23 faceoffs. Sophomore faceoff specialist J.P. Wioncek (Beverly, Mass.) won 16 of his 21 draws.

The Bearcats head to nationally-ranked Virginia on Tuesday for a 4 p.m. game.

NOTES: In Binghamton's past three games, Wichmann has five goals and 10 assists. For the season, he leads the Bearcats with six goals and 12 assists ... Boyce, who has a team-high nine goals, now has five career hat tricks. Mulheron has three hat tricks ... Carlson ranks second on the team with eight goals. He has scored four goals in his past two games
