The Game Story:
Center Valley, PA (April 1, 2008) – The weather turned out to be a perfect afternoon but the DeSales University men’s lacrosse team dropped its third straight game falling to Widener University, 12-3, in the MAC Conference opener for both teams on a warm spring day in Center Valley, PA.

The Pride (4-5, 1-0 MAC) controlled the game from the very start opening up a 3-0 first period lead and led 8-0 at the half before the Bulldogs (4-5, 0-1 MAC) got on the board in the third period pulling to within 9-2 mid-way thru the third period before the final 12-3 margin was posted.

Scoring for the Bulldogs was junior Matthew Brancaccio (Greenvale, NY/North Shore), senior James Ramsey (Philadelphia, PA/Father Judge) and junior Andrew Ervin (Langhorne, PA/Neshaminy). Brancaccio and senior Jay Young (Pittstown, NJ/North Hunterdon) each had assists in the loss.

Freshman Justin Campanelli (Langhorne, PA/Neshaminy) made nine saves in between the pipes and also picked up a team-high nine ground balls for the Bulldogs.

DeSales will return to action on Saturday, April 5th when they host FDU-Florham in another MAC Conference game beginning at 1:00 pm.
