The Game Story:
LANCASTER, PA -- Franklin & Marshall College's Andrew Kuskowski (Sr., Huntington, NY/Huntington), Bas Solleveld (So., South Huntington, NY/St. Anthony's) and Bryan Nolan (Jr., Scottsdale, AZ/Western Reserve) tallied hat tricks as the Diplomats outlasted York College in non-conference men's lacrosse, 18-11.

York would get on the board first as Pat Wynne connected on a shot that found its way into the net at 5:31. The Diplomats tied it up at 7:12 as Bryan Kobel (Sr., Franklin Lakes, NJ/Don Bosco) blasted a 15-yarder that sailed inside the right post for a one all tie. Following scores by Solleveld and York's Scott Hermes, JB Robichau (Fr., Edgartown, MA/Tabor) and Nolan punched in scores as the Diplomats held a 4-3 lead after one period of play. The Diplomats dominated the second quarter tallying 10 goals to hold a 14-3 lead at intermission. Kuskowski tallied scores at 18:19, 19:18 and 28:21, while Solleveld tallied his third score at 24:26 as the pair finished off first half hat tricks.

York mustered a comeback in the third and fourth quarters, cutting the F&M lead to six (17-11) with 2:44 to play, but Kevin DeRoberts (Jr., Pound Ridge, NY/Fox Lane) rifled a shot at the final horn for the 18-11 final. York's Brendan Brace and Scott Hermes led the Spartans with three goals apiece as York outscored the Diplomats eight to four in the final 30 minutes of the game.

In net, Mike Sartorius (Fr., Summit,NJ/Summit), Will McIntire (Fr., Arlington, VA/Taft) and Kristian Schweitzer (So., Short Hills, NJ/Millburn) combined to stop nine of 28 York College shots, while the Spartans' Evan Mazzocchi blocked away 17 of F&M's 45 scoring attempts. Franklin & Marshall (6-3, 1-0 Centennial Conference) will continue the season on April 3 at Western Maryland College, before visiting #3 nationally ranked Washington College on April 6.
