The Shoremen improved to 10-2 overall and 4-2 in conference play, while the loss dropped the Fords to 9-4 overall and 5-1 in conference play.
Sophomore attackmen Mike Sutter (Ellicott City, MD/Mount St. Joseph) and Chris Read (Baltimore, MD/Boys Latin) each tallied four goals and one assist for Washington. Senior midfielder Ryan Morrison (Manhasset, NY/Manhasset/Salisbury School, CT) recorded two goals and one assist, while junior midfielder Andrew Ostrusky (Severna Park, MD/Severna Park/Bridgton, ME) and senior attackman Sam Lane (Fairfield, CT/Fairfield) each contributed two goals of their own. Junior midfielder Mike Hughes (Pasadena, MD/Mt. St. Joseph) and junior defenseman Jon Kenney (Amherst, NY/Amherst) each had one goal to round out the scoring for the Shoremen.
Senior midfielder Tim Kerr (Pasadena, MD/Mt. St. Joseph) and junior defenseman Dan MacDonald (Westfield, NJ/Westfield) each registered a game-high five ground balls for Washington. Senior goalie Kevin Thibadeau (Cheshire, CT/Avon Old Farms) made 17 saves in the victory.
Dean Granoff tallied three goals and one assist, while Matt Thorne-Fitzgerald and Joe Mauri added one goal a piece for the Fords. K.C. Peterson made 12 saves in net for Haverford in the loss.
The Shoremen were successful on 19-of-22 clear attempts, while the Fords were 10-of-18 on clear attempts.
Washington improved its overall record to 16-0 all-time against Haverford and returns to action Saturday with a 12:30 p.m. Centennial Conference game at Muhlenberg. |
