HAVERFORD, PA - Senior goalie K.C. Peterson made 17 saves while senior attack Max Tcheyan registered a career-high five goals and dished out an assist to lift host Haverford past visiting Ursinus, 9-4, Wednesday afternoon in Centennial Conference men's lacrosse action. The Fords improve to 6-4 overall on the season and 3-2 in Centennial play with the win while the Bears drop to 7-3 and 3-2.

The Fords opened the game with a 1-0 lead after the first quarter of play on an unassisted goal by junior midfielder Shane Hafer. Haverford opened the second quarter with two goals in the opening 3:18 of the period. Tcheyan netted both goals for the Fords early on in the second quarter. Tcheyan's first goal was assisted by senior defender Steve Selsor and came when Haverford was a man down, 23 seconds into the quarter. Tcheyan followed with a man up goal 1:55 later off a pass from freshman attack Alex Guy to give Haverford a 3-0 edge. Ursinus responded with two unanswered goals over the final 2:58 of the half to make the score 3-2 at the break.

Tcheyan netted an unassisted goal 1:13 into the half, but the Bears Mike Tori responded with a goal of his own 17 seconds later. Freshman midfielder Andrew Kim put the Fords back up, 5-3 on a goal assisted by Tcheyan.

Haverford broke the game open in the fourth quarter, out scoring Ursinus 4-1 in the period. Junior midfielders Dean Granoff and Matt Thorne-Fitzgerald each posted goals in the fourth quarter, along with two more goals by Tcheyan.
