The Game Story:
HAVERFORD -- Mike Distler netted three goals, and Max Tcheyan (assist) and
Ben Reed added two each, as Haverford tied its school-record for wins in a
season with its 8-4 Centennial Conference victory over Ursinus Wednesday.
The Fords (9-3, 5-0), who remain atop the Centennial Conference
standings and are included in the USILA Division III Top 20 for the first
time ever this week, previously won nine games in the 1993 and 2005
seasons.
Dean Granoff fed one goal each by Reed and Tcheyan, and Joe Mauri
provided the feed on Distler's score in between, during a four-goal
outburst in the first six minutes of the second quarter. Matt
Thorne-Fitzgerald scored an unassisted goal to give the hosts an 8-2 lead
after 45 minutes.
Dane Mangin scored two goals, the first one assisted by Cory Greco, and
Matt Davis and Anthony Tori had one goal each for the Bears (4-7, 1-3).
K.C. Peterson was once again stellar in net for Haverford, stopping 14
shots. Matt Orlando made 11 saves for Ursinus.
