The Game Story:
WILLIAMSPORT, Pa.—Lycoming’s men’s lacrosse team defeated non-conference opponent Richard Stockton College by a score of 18-9 on Wednesday at Robert L. Shangraw Athletic Complex. It was the Warriors fifth win in a row.

Lycoming senior Dan Cannon (Orangeville, Ont.) led all scorers with ten points on five goals and five assists. Freshman Andrew Stoner (Orangeville, Ont.) scored four goals, while sophomore Ed Williams (Florham Park, N.J.) scored three. Senior Jim Cusick (Garnet Valley, Pa.) and sophomore Nate Walter (Harrisburg, Pa.) had two goals apiece for the game.

Sophomore Mike Doherty (Berlin, Md.) was dominant on face-offs, winning 25 of 30 and scooping up 15 ground balls. Junior goalie Kyle Gilfoy (Exton, Pa.), who has been the Commonwealth Conference goalie of the Week two-weeks running, snagged 18 saves before giving way to his back-up Alan Antinarelli (Rochester, N.Y.) with 4:56 remaining in the contest.

Stockton was up 4-2 at the end of the first quarter, but managed only one goal in the second period. Lycoming scored five times in the second and went into the break ahead 7-5.

The Warriors found the net five more times in the third quarter, with three of the scores assisted by Cannon. Cannon also landed his fourth goal of the game with 1:29 left in the third to put Lycoming up 12-8 going into the final period. The Ospreys scored just once more in the contest, as the blue and gold scored six times in the fourth quarter to secure the victory.

Lycoming travels to King’s on Tuesday, April 1 for its first Middle Atlantic Conference game. Face-off is set for 4 p.m.
