The Game Story:
LYNCHBURG, VA - The Lynchburg College Hornets opened the
2006 season in grand style Sunday afternoon, defeating visiting
Cabrini College 10-7. Lynchburg scored four unanswered goals at the
start of the second half to overcome a 5-2 half-time deficit.



The Hornets were led by sophomore Johnny Black (Timonium,
MD/St. Paul's), who found the back of the net three times and racked
up one assist. Sophomore Ryan Cranston (West Chester, PA/Henderson)
contributed two goals and three helpers and senior A.J. Tinklepaugh
(Annandale, VA/W.T. Woodson) chipped in with two goals and an assist.
Sophomore goalie Garrett Curran (Hull, MA/Tabor Academy) notched seven
saves in the win. The Hornets beat Cabrini in ground balls 38 to 34
and out-shot the Cavaliers 35 to 22



Cabrini, who drops to 0-1 on the season, was led by Kevin
Rayer with two goals and an assist. Matt Campbell also contributed
with a goal and two assists. Kevin Quinn registered 13 saves in goal
for the Cavaliers.



The men's lacrosse team is now 1-0 and travels to Ohio
Wesleyan University next Saturday, March 4.
