| The Game Story: | LYNCHBURG, VA – The fifth ranked Lynchburg College men’s lacrosse team shut down the Washington & Lee Generals 14-5 in Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) action on Wednesday night to move into sole possession of first place in the ODAC.
W&L went on top 1:14 into the contest off a Ned Rider goal, but LC would score the next six goals to take command of the game. Lynchburg was led by Johnny Black’s (Timonium, MD/St. Paul’s) three goals and two assists along with Ryan Cranston’s (West Chester, PA/Henderson) two scores and three helpers. Michael Mundorf (Catonsville, MD/Mt. Saint Joseph) and Stephen Weis (St. Louis, MO/Christian Brothers) each tallied two goals and Kyle McGuire (Burke, VA/Robinson) contributed with one goal and one assist. Norby King (Bryn Mawr, PA/Cardinal O’Hara) was dominant at face-offs, winning 16 of 23 and scooping up eight groundballs. Garrett Curran (Hull, MA/Tabor Academy) played all 60 minutes in net, stopping 13 shots and grabbing nine groundballs.
Ned Rider and Will Keigler each had one goal and one assist while Tim Skeen had two assists for the Generals (7-5/3-1). Drew Koeneman, Harry St. John, and Logan Bartlett each posted a score. Goalie Connor Locke recorded 15 saves.
LC (11-2/4-0) travels to ODAC rival Roanoke College on Saturday at 7 p.m. |
