The Game Story:
(Fredericksburg, Va)-- Sophomore attackman Matt Wiles netted the game-winning goal with ten seconds remaining to lift Mary Washington past Dickinson 5-4 in a thrilling men's lacrosse opener on Sunday.

Junior midfielder Jeremy Angell (Milton, Ma/Fryeburg Academy) (above) tied the game at 4-4, scoring back-to-back goals 36 and 30 seconds remaining before Wiles answered to even the Eagles' record at 2-2 on the season.

Freshman Dan Murray (Denver, Co/Regis Jesuit) and junior Jack Miner (Wexford, Pa/N. Allegheny) gave Dickinson a 2-0 lead midway through the first period. The Eagles responded with goals from Randy Fulk and Dave Justen in the final 1:08 to knot the score at 2-2.

MWC took a 3-2 lead at halftime behind a lone second quarter tally by Chris Doddridge and stretched the advantage to 4-2 on Justen's second goal of the game in the final period.

Freshman goaltender Sean McGowan (Glens Falls, NY/Kimball Union Academy) made five saves in his first collegiate start as Dickinson starts the year 0-1. Trip Deeley (Lutherville, Md/St. Paul's) and Matt McFarland (Annapolis, Md/Severn) each added assists for the Devils.

Mary Washington had just come off a heartbreaking loss to 4th-ranked Salisbury on Friday. The Eagles led 8-4 in the fourth quarter before falling to the Seagulls 10-8.

Dickinson travels to Cabrini College on Wednesday with the opening face-off set for 3:30 pm.
