The Game Story:
UMW Men's Lacrosse Falls to #1 Salisbury, 10-5
April 2, 2008

The University of Mary Washington men's lacrosse team jumped out to an early lead, and didn't trail until late in the third quarter, but fell to top-ranked Salisbury University, 10-5, on Wednesday at the Battleground. The Eagles fall to 5-5 overall and 2-3 in Capital Athletic Conference play.

UMW junior Charlie White scored the game's first goal with 12:26 left in the first on an assist from Brent Fisk, who would score at 8:01 remaining to give UMW a 2-0 lead. After a Salisbury score by jake DeLillo cut the deficit to 2-1, Sean Brown put the Eagles up, 3-1, on a Ryan Motyka assist at 13:48 of the second quarter. The Sea Gulls scored twice to knot the score at three at halftime.

Scott Fletcher score two minutes into the third quarter to give UMW a 4-3 lead, but DeLillo answered to tie the score less than a minute later. Brown scored with 5:53 left in the third to give UMW a 5-4 advantage, but the Sea Gulls scored the game's final six scores for the five goal win.

Freshman Ryan Kleman made 16 saves for Mary Washington, while Zach Krissoff had eight stops for Salisbury.

The Eagles will visit York College on Saturday at 1:00 pm in another CAC tilt.
