The Game Story:
MIDDLEBURY, Vt. - Middlebury avenged its only loss of last season's 17-1 championship team with a 13-11 win over Bowdoin at Kohn Field in Middlebury. The Panthers improve to 8-1 on the season, while the Polar Bears drop to 4-6.

Middlebury scored the game's first two goals in 2:51 to take a 2-0 lead. Bowdoin got on the board at 9:50 before the quarter ended with a 5-3 Panther advantage. The lead increased to 9-6 at the half for Middlebury, before Bowdoin scored two goals in the first 2:51 of the third quarter to cut the lead to 9-8. The teams exchanged the next two goals, leaving Middlebury with a 10-9 lead heading into the final quarter. The Panthers gained some breathing room early with a pair of goals from Mike Saraceni and Mike Frissora in the first 5:25 of the quarter to take a 12-9 lead. The lead grew to 13-9 before Bowdoin made a run in the game's final six minutes. A goal at the 5:30 mark by Phil Stern and another at 4:23 from Kyle Courtiss made it a 13-11 game. The teams continued to battle, with Bowdoin having a man-up situation with 53 seconds left, but they could not close the gap.

Saraceni led Middlebury with four goals and three assists, while Frissora added three goals and one assist. Connor Fitzgerald paced the Polar Bears with four goals and two assists.
