The Game Story:
ROCHESTER, N.Y. (April 14, 2004) -- Fifth-ranked Nazareth rolled to its fourth straight men's lacrosse victory Wednesday at Golden Flyer Stadium as the Golden Flyers scored early and often in a 24-5 win over Empire 8 rival Alfred.

Sophomore midfielder Bryan Adams (Guilderland HS/Schenectady, NY) scored a career-best five goals to pace the Golden Flyers, who improved to 9-1 overall and 4-0 in the Empire 8 Conference. Alfred is 5-4 and 2-3.

Adams scored three times in the first quarter while Nazareth was building a 9-3 advantage. Nazareth added six more goals in the second quarter and seven in the third.

Senior attackman Justin Wahl (Penn Yan Academy/Penn Yan, NY) added three goals and one assist and six others added two goals each in Brandon Brown (Ithaca HS/Ithaca, NY), who also added three assists; Chris Balash (Auburn HS/Auburn, NY); Kevin Gibbons (Bishop Brady HS/Canterbury, NH): Ryan Hotaling (Onondaga HS/Syracuse, NY); Sean Lander (Duxbury HS/Duxbury, MA); and T.J. Rogers (Canandaigua Academy/Canandaigua, NY). Freshman Brian Hubert (Nashua North HS/Nashua, NH) also delivered his first career goal.

Anthony Fiorelli (Union Endicott HS/Endicott, NY) and Adam Griffin (New Hartford HS/New Hartford, NY) each had two goals for Alfred and David Vail (Mountain Lakes HS/Mountain Lakes, NJ) had three assists.

Nazareth enjoyed sizeable advantages in shots (54-23) and ground balls (70-54) and they won 18 of 33 faceoffs.

Nazareth plays again Saturday at home against 12th-ranked RIT at 2:30 p.m. The game will be carried on local radio station WYSL-AM (1040) and is available via the internet at
