The Game Story:
ROCHESTER, N.Y. (March 3, 2004) -- Sophomore Chris Balash (pictured) and freshman Chad Amidon each scored three goals Wednesday and sophomore Bryan Adams had two goals and two assists to lead Nazareth to a 21-2 victory over visiting St. John Fisher in the men's lacrosse opener for both teams.

Thirteen different players reached the scoring column for the Golden Flyers, who entered the game ranked sixth nationally in Division III. The Golden Flyers led 7-0 at halftime and extended their lead to 12-0 before Fisher scored in the third quarter. Nazareth scored seven times in the third quarter and seven more times in the fourth.

Adams scored both of his goals in the first half as Nazareth was building a commanding advantage. Balash scored in the first quarter, then scored twice more in the third. Amidon scored all three of his goals in the second half.

Freshman Ryan Hotaling and seniors Justin Wahl and Brian Navarra each had two goals and one assist and senior Brandon Brown contributed one goal and two assists.

Five players scored their first college goals in Amidon, Hotaling, Kevin Gibbons, Jordan Hirsch, and Jim Schultheis. Alex Civalier, George Polino, and Patrick Mullin each played in goal and combined for nine saves.

John Delle Donne and Michael-Paul Solamon had goals for Fisher. Nazareth plays again Saturday at Division II Adelphi at 1 p.m.
