The Game Story:
Junior midfielder Michael Long (New Market, Md./Linganore) scored off an assist from senior attacker John Galvin (Port Washington, N.Y./Kent) with :08 to play to cap a wild comeback and lift Ohio Wesleyan over Lynchburg on Sunday.

Long's goal finished off a 6-0 run that included 4 Ohio Wesleyan goals in the final 95 seconds of regulation time. Junior midfielder Andy Rowe (Alpharetta, Ga./Penfield, NY) had 3 goals during that game-ending run and senior attacker Matt Coughlin (Denver, Colo./Regis Jesuit) had a goal and 2 assists.

Lynchburg had taken a 5-1 lead late in the first quarter, getting goals from 5 different players. Ohio Wesleyan closed to within 6-4 late in the third, but Billy McCulloch and Jeff Mullenix scored in the last 4 minutes of the half to pad the Hornet lead to 8-4.

The Hornets seemed to have the game in control when they rang up 4 goals in less than 90 seconds early in the third quarter, hiking the lead to 12-4. Kevin Reinecke scored twice during that Lynchburg run.

Ohio Wesleyan whittled the deficit to 12-7, getting a pair of goals from freshman attacker John Schlegel (Chevy Chase, Md./Gonzaga) in the closing moments of the third quarter, and made it 13-9 midway through the third on goals by Long and Galvin.

Ohio Wesleyan's comeback from an 8-goal deficit matched the biggest comeback in recent Bishop history. Ohio Wesleyan had trailed Michigan State, 9-1, at halftime on April 10, 1991, before rebounding to post a 15-9 victory.
