The Game Story:
Senior attacker Harrison Iuliano (Mendham, N.J./Blair Academy) scored to bring Ohio Wesleyan within 6-5 late in the first half, but fifth-ranked Lynchburg answered with a goal during the final minute of the period and pulled away during the second half to take a non-conference win on Sunday at Selby Field.

The Bishops and Hornets traded goals twice during the first 17 minutes of play, with Kyle McGuire scoring twice to put Lynchburg ahead only to see sophomore midfielder Dylan Brown (Merion, Pa./Episcopal Academy) and then Iuliano answer for Ohio Wesleyan.

Lynchburg took a 4-2 lead with a score by Ryan Cranston and a man-up goal from Tyler Tolson, but the Bishops answered with goals by junior attacker Nick Gallagher (Columbus/Dublin Scioto) and junior midfielder Connor McGowan (Worthington/Thomas Worthington) to even the game at 4-4 with 6:48 left in the second quarter.

Cranston followed with an unassisted goal at the 4:24 mark, and McGuire scored his third of the game, a man-up goal with 3:18 left in the period, to give the Hornets a 6-4 lead with 3:18 to play in the half.

Iuliano's goal just 30 seconds later brought the Bishops within 6-5, but Johnny Black answered for Lynchburg with 42 seconds on the clock for a 7-5 halftime lead, and Black struck again early in the second half for an 8-5 Hornet advantage.

The Hornets added a pair of man-up goals during the third quarter, and Lynchburg keeper Garrett Curran stood out during the fourth quarter, making 8 saves during the period to preserve the Hornet lead.

Iuliano led the Bishops with 2 goals, while senior midfielder Chris Eccles (Secane, Pa./Monsignor Bonner) finished with 2 assists.

Senior Ryan Perone (Fairfield, Conn./Fairfield Prep) went the distance in the Bishop goal, making 10 saves.

Cranston led the Hornets with 4 goals, while McGuire had 3 goals, Tolson finished with 2 goals and an assist and Taylor Stehlgens dished out 3 assists. Curran finished with 17 saves in the Hornet cage.
