The Game Story:
Junior Justin Rand scored his second goal of the game with 2:26 left in the second overtime to give the Geneseo men's lacrosse team a 13-12 win over host Oneonta this afternoon. Geneseo jumped out to a 10-4 lead in the first half with 4:25 remaining, but Oneonta reeled off seven consecutive goals to take an 11-10 lead with 10:01 remaining in the fourth quarter. The Knights, who were held scoreless for 27:53, got the equalizer with 6:32 to play on junior Tom Costanza's second goal of the game and took a 12-11 lead on junior Dylan Bittlingmaier's fourth score of the contest. Oneonta sent the game into overtime with just three seconds remaining in regulation. Sophomore Dennis Costanza picked up the win in nets by making 12 saves, Bittlingmaier finished with four goals and one assist and sophomore Ray Ryan added a goal and three helpers. Senior Steve Hutton and first year Craig Lange netted two goals with one assist and Steve DuFlo scooped six groundballs. Geneseo advances to 6-1 overall and 1-0 in SUNYAC and will travel to Brockport on Wednesday.
