The Game Story:
ROCHESTER, NY -- On Senior Day the RIT men's lacrosse team defeated Eastern Connecticut State 15-8. Senior midfielder Wes Adam (Lafayette, NY) led the Tigers with four goals and an assist as the Tigers improve to 7-6 on the season.

The Tigers used a 5-0 run in the second quarter to break a close game open. RIT out shot Eastern Connecticut 57-25 and won the ground ball battle 56-28. The Tigers went 3-for-6 on man-up and won 19-of-27 face-offs.

Adam led the way with five points on four goals and an assist. Andrew Ruocco (Corning, NY/Corning East) added three goals and dished out two assists and Iric Bressler (Stafford, VA/N. Stafford) and Dan Rago (Geneva, NY) each had two goals. Brad Conlon (Ottawa, ON/Bridgton Academy) picked up the win, making two saves in the first half.

D.J. Simmons paced the Warriors with four goals. Matt Savage had a goal and two assists. Kyle Savage took the loss for Eastern Connecticut, making 12 saves.

Eastern Connecticut held an early lead in the first quarter. After Bressler gave the Tigers a 1-0 lead the Warriors ripped off three straight goals.

RIT responded with a three-goal run, taking the lead back on Garrett Johnson's (Fairfield, CT) second goal of the season with 5:32 remaining in the half.

Simmons tied the score at 4-4 on an unassisted goal by Simmons with 2:35 remaining in the opening quarter.

The second quarter belonged to RIT as they scored five straight goals. Ruocco scored all three of his goals in the second quarter, joined by Adam and George During (Skaneateles, NY) who also scored for RIT as they took a 9-4 lead into half time.

After a Simmons goal to open the third quarter cut RIT's lead to 9-5 Chris Ferry answered to make it 10-5 RIT.

Simmons tallied another to make it 10-6 but Chris Cherami answered with an unassisted goal, giving RIT an 11-6 lead.

The fourth quarter saw RIT outscore the Warriors 4-2. Dan Rago had two goals in the quarter and Adam and Bressler each had a goal as RIT scored the second-most goals of the season.

RIT will host Utica College in Empire 8 action on Wednesday, April 16 at 4 pm on RIT Field.
