The Game Story:
PITTSFORD, NY -- The RIT men's lacrosse team lost to St. John Fisher 12-11 in overtime in Empire 8 action at Growney Stadium on Wednesday afternoon.
The Tigers erased a three-goal, fourth quarter deficit. Wes Adam's (Lafayette, NY) man-up goal with 1:47 to play in regulation capped off a three-goal run by the Tigers. Adam took a pass from Dan Rago at the top of the box and ripped a low shot for his second tally of the game.

RIT was outshot by St. John Fisher, 36-39 but won the ground ball battle 34-30 and won 15-of-27 faceoffs. The Tigers went 2-for-3 with the man advantage and held the Cardinals to no goals in three man-up chances.

The first quarter belonged to the Cardinals as they scored the first four goals of the contest. RIT's lone goal came with 2:47 remaining in the quarter on an unassisted goal y Andy Ruocco (Corning, NY/Corning East).

Iric Bressler's (Stafford, VA/N. Stafford) goal 36 seconds into the second quarter cut the Cardinals lead to 4-2. The Cardinals outscored RIT 4-2 the remainder of the quarter, leading 8-4 at the half.

The Tigers came out and score two quick goals to open the third quarter, cutting St. John Fisher's lead to 8-6.

After a pair of Cardinals' goals made it 10-6 RIT responded with two goals inside the last minute of play in the third from Chris Cherami (Olwick, NJ/Seton Hall Prep) and Dan Rago (Geneva, NY), cutting the lead to 10-8 heading into the fourth.

Fisher opended the fourth with a goal, making it 11-8 but RIT kept pecking away at the lead.

Sean Gillies (Oakville, ON/Albany Academy) made it 11-9 with an even-strength goal at 12:16 of the fourth on an assist from Ruocco.

Garrett Johnson (Fairfield, CT) got RIT to within a goal with 2:30 remaining in regulation. Off a clearing attempt for RIT Iric Bressler found Johnson streaking towards the net and floated a pass over a Cardinals defender. Johnson stretched, made the catch and put the ball in the net for his first tally of the season.

Adam's goal late in the fourth tied the score at 11-11 sending it into overtime. The Tigers had a chance to score in overtime but Bressler turned the ball over and Fisher scored the game-winner on their next possession.
