The Game Story:
Maroons get big win over #17 Dickinson
Men play on Tues. vs. Tufts @ 3:30 p.m.

The men’s lacrosse team got a big win against Dickinson, 14-8 at Donald J. Kerr Stadium on Saturday afternoon. The win propelled the Maroons to 3-2 on the season while the Red Devils dropped their first game of the season (4-1).

The Maroons, who are ranked #11 in the country, won the ground ball battle, 44-35 and outshot Dickinson, 32-27. The Red Devils won 16-of-24 face-offs on the afternoon. The Maroons are now 3-1 all-time against the Red Devils and avenged an overtime loss, 11-10 last season.

With the Maroons down, 4-5 late in the second period, the Maroons scored nine of the next 11 goals to pull away late to win their third game of the season.

The Maroons were led by Chas Carlson with two goals and four assists. He moved into a three-way tie for 21st on the all-time scoring list. He also tied fellow teammate Zach Thomas with 70 career assists which is 10th all-time.

Ashton Hotchkiss finished with three goals and two assists to pace the Maroons. Pat March, Matt Quinton and Billy Cameron added two goals for Roanoke. Cameron led the Maroons with seven groundballs on the afternoon.

Jake Dorsey had 13 saves and six groundballs for Roanoke while Russell Matthews finished with five for Dickinson.

The Maroons are back at home on Tuesday, March 18 as they Host #10 Tufts University. The series is tied at 1-1 with Tufts taking a 13-12 decision last season. Game time is scheduled for 3:30 p.m.
